The Telangana government has announced that it will conduct a Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) before taking up the recruitment of teachers through the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination system. The state government had previously issued a notification for the recruitment of over 11,000 teachers through the DSC exam system. Clearing TET is a mandatory requirement for writing the DSC exam, and there have been demands from job aspirants that TET should be conducted. Responding to these demands, the state government has directed the education department officials to conduct TET as early as possible. The government’s decision to conduct TET before the DSC exam will benefit as many as three lakh job aspirants. The last TET was reportedly conducted in September 2023.
