Chandrababu urges MLAs to foster constructive dialogue for AP’s future

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu called for a proactive approach from the newly elected MLAs

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu called for a proactive approach from the newly elected MLAs, urging them to be pillars of constructive dialogue and problem-solving for the future of the State. Speaking at a workshop organized in Amaravati for first-time legislators, Naidu emphasized the importance of effective governance and legislative participation. The workshop, conducted by PRS Legislative Research Institute, focused on the intricacies of the budget process and legislative responsibilities.

Naidu underscored that MLAs should be fully aware of the budget’s role in governance and contribute with constructive ideas in the assembly. He stressed the need for MLAs to delve deep into government policies and bills, keeping in mind the trust citizens have placed in their elected representatives. Reflecting on his political journey, Naidu recalled, “I became an MLA for the first time in 1978, and a minister in 1980. Over nine election victories and four terms as Chief Minister, I have learned that continuous success hinges on performance and a robust party structure.”

He also acknowledged the diversity of the newly elected legislators, noting that 84 first-time MLAs from various parties, 61 from TDP, 15 from Jana Sena, and others from BJP and YSRCP, have come together to shape the future of the state. Naidu advocated for continuous learning among legislators, citing past practices where MLAs were sent abroad to study the rapid growth of other nations. He urged them to focus on policies that provide long-term solutions to the state's issues and to remain informed about both central and state budget allocations. He emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and innovative thinking in governance, encouraging MLAs to make the Assembly a platform to showcase their efforts and contribute to the State’s development. The meeting was held under the leadership of Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanapatrudu, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan and several MLAs participated.
