Sri Reddy in East Godavari district for alleged defamatory comments about Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan
A case has been registered against actress Sri Reddy in East Godavari district for alleged defamatory comments about Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita. The Bommur police filed the case following a complaint by TDP AP women's cell general secretary Mazji Padma, who claimed that Sri Reddy spread false propaganda against alliance leaders on social media during the YSRCP regime.
Padma’s complaint accuses Sri Reddy of supporting the YSRCP party and former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy by making derogatory statements against TDP, Janasena, and BJP leaders. The case has been registered under sections 196, 353(2), 79 BNS, and 67 of the ITA-2000-2008. Padma also alleged that previous complaints went unaddressed due to the YCP government and demanded Sri Reddy’s immediate arrest. This incident follows a similar case filed on July 20 at the Kurnool Threetown Police Station.
TDP BC Cell Leader Nagaraju lodged a complaint accusing Sri Reddy of making inappropriate comments about CM Chandrababu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh, and Home Minister Anita. Nagaraju provided videos and other evidence of Sri Reddy’s social media activity, prompting another case against the actress. Sri Reddy issued a public apology, acknowledging her past actions and expressing remorse. She pledged to refrain from such comments in the future.
