Amaravati: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu lambasted the previous YSRCP government in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday, accusing it of leaving the State on a "ventilator" with Rs 10 lakh crore in debt and deteriorating infrastructure.
He assured the people that his government is steadily fulfilling its promises, though asserting that real transformation cannot happen overnight. The CM called the 2024 election verdict a "revolt of the people" against the YSRCP’s failures. "The public has given me an unprecedented victory.
They trust me to fix the State, and I will not let them down," he said, emphasizing that his long political career and four-decade relationship with the people inspire his commitment to their welfare. Naidu highlighted his government’s strides in welfare and infrastructure, including pensions, benefiting 64 lakh citizens, increased to Rs 4,000 per month, Rs 860 crore allocated to fix potholes, with a promise of pothole-free roads by Sankranti.
National Highways projects worth Rs 75,000 crore are underway and a works worth Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 crore will be begun soon. Anna Canteens have been started and will be extended beyond the current 101 centers for affordable meals. He also announced groundbreaking investments, including a Rs 1 lakh crore joint venture with NTPC and Genco in Visakhapatnam and a Rs 65,000 crore Reliance Biogas project, expected to create 2.5 lakh jobs.
Amaravati vision Reaffirming Amaravati as the State capital, Naidu said, "Amaravati will attract investments and ensure revenue generation. With Central support, the Amaravati railway line is progressing." He criticized the YSRCP for poor waste management, leading to the accumulation of 83 lakh metric tons of garbage. "We canceled the garbage tax, which burdened people without addressing the issue," he declared. Naidu vowed to eradicate ganja and drugs, linking them to rising crimes.
"Atrocities must stop. Hardened criminals will find no place in Andhra Pradesh," he said. Taking a dig at the YSRCP, Naidu said their mismanagement left villages neglected, roads in disrepair, and debts mounting.
"This coalition government has completed 150 days. Unlike the previous regime, we will ensure every action is accountable and transparent," he asserted. With welfare initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and a focus on restoring public trust, Naidu vowed to lead Andhra Pradesh towards a brighter, sustainable future.
