Srikakulam: April 24: TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed the party’s commitment to women’s empowerment, promising to serve as the elder son to families across the State and enhance livelihood opportunities.
In a resolute address during his election campaign in Srikakulam, highlighting the significance of the Telugu Desam Party as the birthplace of empowerment for women, Naidu emphasised his dedication to uplifting women’s status. He denounced the current administration’s governance, citing soaring prices of essentials like rice and electricity under the YSRCP’s rule, with rice prices escalating from Rs 40 to Rs 60 and electricity charges surging from Rs 200 to Rs 1000 over the past five years.
Expressing his steadfast support for women’s welfare, Naidu underscored the TDP’s implementation of various schemes aimed at women’s development. He reiterated the party’s commitment to providing house sites in the names of women, with a vision to make women millionaires by extending financial aid of Rs 10 lakh to women’s self-help groups and offering interest-free loans.
Furthermore, Naidu outlined ambitious plans to ensure every family benefits from comprehensive schemes outlined in the TDP’s election manifesto for 2024. He assured the handicapped persons to raise their pensions to Rs 4000 and Rs 6000 with the increased pensions scheduled to commence from April onwards.
Taking a critical stance against YSRCP president and chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Naidu condemned the alleged debt crisis and mismanagement during the incumbent government’s tenure. He accused the Chief Minister of burdening the populace with debts while promising to prioritize wealth creation and job opportunities for the youth under the TDP’s governance. Naidu also accused Jagan of neglecting the North Andhra region and failing to complete irrigation projects, accusing him of making hollow promises ahead of elections. The TDP leader urged voters to consider the party’s track record of empowerment and development while scrutinizing the opposition’s claims.
