Gold prices on Thursday witnessed a decline of Rs. 31 and settled at Rs. 71,096 per 10 grams in futures trade due to the reduction of positions by speculators.
The gold contracts for June delivery on the MCX traded at a lower price of Rs. 71,096 per 10 grams, a decrease of Rs. 31 in a business turnover of 15,605 lots.
The fall in gold prices was attributed to weak global cues and profit booking at a higher level by analysts. Globally, gold was trading 0.26% lower and was priced at USD 2,316.20 per ounce in New York.
