A fire broke out in a four-story residential building located in Mumbra area of Maharashtra’s Thane district, resulting in the destruction of around 20 electric meters. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident which took place on Saturday night in the Noor Mahal housing society. The fire started at around 11:15 pm in one of the electric meters and quickly spread to others, prompting the occupants of the building to evacuate as a safety measure.
Local firemen, regional disaster management cell team, electricity supply personnel, and police reached the spot after being informed. They managed to douse the flames after about an hour. The power supply to the building was cut off after the fire erupted.
The official from Thane Municipal Corporation’s disaster management cell, Yasin Tadvi, suspects that a short-circuit caused the fire, but it was still being verified.
