Nara Lokesh, Minister for HRD, IT and the heir apparent of TDP, has set a new trend in Andhra Pradesh politics. He started Prajadarbar programme after assuming the charge as minister in AP cabinet. Everyone expects good governance and people- centric style of functioning from a leader after becoming a minister. Lokesh is living upto the expectations of people. The ministers or legislators usually shift their focus on governance and other administrative chores once they are elected. But Lokesh shifted his focus to interact with the public in the name of Praja Darbar with an aim to resolve the grievances. Presently he is directly interacting with the public and collecting representations from the public.

He started the Prajadarbar at his residence in Undavalli for Mangalagiri constituency’s purpose. But the people have started to come across the State to meet him. The serpentine queues l are visible at his residence. Interestingly he is also spending time with everyone inquiring about their problem personally. Immediately he is endorsing their problems to his team for solving the grievances. Now he is receiving appreciation from the public because he started the Prajadarbar immediately after coming to power.

Surprisingly, he is spending the majority of time without any hesitation. As a result, thousands of people have met them so far. Moreover, he prefers to meet the public instead of party leaders in his Prajadarbar. The initiative of Lokesh motivated the majority of MLAs in the State. As a result, most of the MLAs of all political parties started Prajadarbar at their offices across the State.

Telugu Desam Party has launched the Prajadarbar programme at its central office. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also directly met the public. He wants to meet the public every Saturday at the party office amidst his hectic schedule. Apart from this, the TDP has assigned several ministers, legislators and senior leaders for collecting the presentations and solving the problems of the public.

Several ministers immediately issued orders based on the nature of the problem. Nearly 7500 applications were received during the last 15 days. The TDP has also announced a schedule for this programme with the names of ministers and leaders in advance by mentioning the names. Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, have started meeting with the public. Pawan Kalyan started immediately after Lokesh launched the public interactions. He started Prajadarbar at Jana Sena office.

He is also directly interacting with the public. Moreover, he directly pursued and cleared the applications which were submitted by the public under this programme. After observing the seriousness of the public issues, he started the grievance cell at Jana Sena party office and it works from August 1.

Besides, the former Chief Minister who used to be confined to his Tadepalli camp office inside, now started meeting the public for the past few days. Lokesh who has a responsibility to carry forward the legacy of NTR and Chandrababu Naidu has set a new trend in AP politics. He conducted Racchabanda programme in the past during the election tenure to meet the masses in the villages in the limits of Mangalagiri constituency.

Now he prefers to meet the common public and it shows his seriousness towards emerging as the true people’s leader. But the officials should not forget that the credibility of Praja Darbar will depend on the swift intervention of the bureaucracy in addressing the grievances.
