From glittering parties to electrifying musical extravaganzas, the city's festive spirit is soaring high. Star-studded DJs, celebrity singers, and popular TV anchors are taking the stage at various venues to host unforgettable music concerts and special programs, promising an evening brimming with entertainment and glamour. Hotels and event spaces are pulling out all the stops to pamper revelers with dazzling lights, live performances, and lavish feasts.
Adding to the buzz, liquor traders are gearing up for record-breaking sales. Depots across the city are witnessing a brisk demand as shopkeepers stock up in anticipation of the celebrations. Director General of Police Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao has issued a directive to all district SPs and police commissioners in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, emphasizing stringent safety measures for New Year’s Eve.
Event organizers have been instructed to obtain police permission regardless of the venue and ensure compliance with all safety protocols. Fire extinguishers, proper entry and exit gates, and crowd control measures are mandatory for all venues. The DGP stressed that drug use and narcotics are strictly prohibited, holding organizers accountable for any violations. “Andhra Pradesh State Police will implement comprehensive security measures on New Year’s Eve,” the DGP stated, adding that police personnel will be deployed in large numbers to manage crowds in high-footfall areas like Vijayawada, Vizag, Tirupati, and other cities.
Celebrations will be permitted until 1 a.m., with vehicular restrictions in crowded zones. A zero-tolerance policy for drunk driving will be strictly enforced to ensure road safety.
