Vijayawada: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) celebrated its foundation day fervently, with TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, party leaders, and cadre participating in the celebrations. Addressing the gathering on this auspicious occasion in Kadiri of Ananthapuram district, Chandrababu Naidu reflected on the party’s inception and its core principles.
Highlighting the origins of the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu noted that former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao established the party on November 29, 1982, drawing inspiration from iconic figures such as Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Jyothiba Phule, and Potti Sreeramulu etc. NTR’s vision for the TDP was grounded in a commitment to serving the people rather than merely enjoying political power.
Emphasizing NTR’s inclusive approach, Chandrababu Naidu underscored that the party accorded the highest importance to upliftment and empowerment of the poor and backward sections of society. NTR’s vision extended beyond mere electoral support; he aimed to make these marginalized communities active partners in governance, ensuring they were not relegated to the status of perpetual voters without agency.
Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the TDP’s ongoing mission to safeguard the self-respect and dignity of Telugu-speaking people, emphasizing the party’s unwavering commitment to championing their interests and welfare. Nara Bhuvaneswari also participated in the celebrations at their residence in Undavalli of Guntur district
