Supreme Court Issues Notice to Avinash Reddy in Viveka Murder Case
The Supreme Court issued notices to Avinash Reddy, the CBI, and approver Dastagiri regarding cases filed by Sunitha, the daughter of former minister Vivekananda Reddy. She is seeking the cancellation of bail for MP YS Avinash Reddy and D. Sivashankar Reddy, both accused in her father's murder.
Sunitha's request to include the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government as a respondent was accepted, alongside notices to Narreddy Rajasekhar Reddy and CBI officer Ram Singh regarding cases filed against them by Krishna Reddy. The hearings for the Rajasekhar Reddy couple and Ram Singh are scheduled for February 24, while Sunitha's petitions regarding bail cancellations will be heard on March 3.
During the hearing, advocate Siddhartha Luthra, representing Narreddy and Rajasekhar Reddy, argued that they are victims facing trial and that they had colluded with the investigating officer regarding a conspiracy case against them. The Chief Justice issued notices to MV Krishna Reddy and the AP government, requiring a response by February 24.
Luthra also raised concerns that Dr. Chaitanya Reddy, representing Avinash Reddy, allegedly threatened the approver Dastagiri during a visit to jail. The Chief Justice sought clarification on Dr. Reddy's frequent jail visits before issuing notices to all parties involved. The judge ordered all respondents to reply by March 3.
