Sajjala Bhargava Reddy Gets Temporary Relief from Supreme Court

Sajjala Bhargava Reddy, son of YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and the social media in-charge of the party, has received temporary relief from the Supreme Court in cases filed against him for allegedly making offensive posts targeting leaders of both the Janasena and TDP.

Bhargava Reddy had approached the Supreme Court seeking to quash multiple FIRs lodged against him. However, the court declined to hear his plea and advised him to approach the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The Supreme Court granted him two weeks to file petitions in the High Court and directed the police not to arrest him during this period.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Bhargava Reddy, argued that the cases were registered under recently introduced laws, suggesting their application was questionable. Countering this, senior advocate Siddharth Luthra, representing the Andhra Pradesh government, highlighted the offensive nature of Bhargava Reddy’s comments, especially those targeting women, and accused him of not cooperating with the investigation.

The Supreme Court remarked that anyone making offensive remarks must face the legal repercussions.
