Raid in Hyderabad: Gang Peddling Fake Ginger Paste Busted with 1500kg of Contaminated Goods

A gang was arrested in Hyderabad for producing and selling adulterated ginger and garlic paste. Authorities seized over 1500 kg

Hyderabad: In a joint operation conducted by the Hyderabad Task Force and Bowenpally police, a gang of eight individuals was arrested for manufacturing and selling adulterated ginger and garlic paste in unhygienic conditions. The raid took place in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar, Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad, where the police uncovered a large-scale operation involving unsafe food production methods.

Adulterated Paste and Unhygienic Practices

The accused were found manufacturing ginger and garlic paste at a factory named ‘Sony Ginger Garlic Paste’. Police discovered that the paste was being mixed with citric acid and rotten garlic, and then packaged in plastic containers with misleading expiry dates and labels. The unhygienic practices put public health at risk, and the seized materials included 1500 kilograms of garlic paste, 480 kilograms of damaged raw garlic, and equipment used for mixing and packaging.

Seized Material and Total Value

The police also seized 55 kilograms of citric acid, two grinding machines, a weighing machine, and date stamps, all valued at Rs 4.5 lakh. The scale of the operation revealed the extent of the adulteration.
In other news, Hyderabad police uncovered a racket that was making fake voter ID cards for Rs 1,500 in just an hour. The task force caught the fraudsters on Thursday by posing as customers at their site. Officers were surprised to find how quickly the fake IDs were being issued

Acting on a tip-off, one of the cops contacted the owner of RS Online Service Centre, Y Raj Kumar, pretending to need an Aadhaar card and mentioning a lack of important documents. Unaware it was a trap, Raj Kumar confidently assured the officer that he could easily provide a fake voter ID card for the ‘applicant’.
