Amaravati: May 10: There is a long queue of cars and buses with loads of people on the national highways that connect the State with the neigbouring states. They come from far off places to Andhra Pradesh with an intention of casting their votes in the general elections. The National Highways witnessed the rush on Saturday two days before the general election. Generally, people come across such scenes only during the Sankranthi holidays.

The National highways leading to Andhra Pradesh from Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Bhubaneswar are clogged with heavy rush with moving cars and buses.

The scenes of vehicles halting at check posts with long queues have been common for the last two days. The roads leading to Vijayawada from Hyderabad are caught visibly in traffic jams at various locations in the middle of their journey.

The IT employees and people from different sections are coming massively to their native places to cast their votes compared with the last election in 2019.

Similar scenes prevailed at bus stations and airports in Vijayawada and Vizag. The railway has also provided special trains for increasing passenger demand to cater to the needs of the rush.

The TDP contestants are describing the passenger rush as favorable to them. As per reports, some of them have reached Andhra Pradesh from various countries also. NRI TDP former director K Seshu Babu said that he arranged two buses from Hyderabad for the NRIs.

V Rami Reddy, a voter of Tenali constituency, said that he came to his native to cast his vote as responsibility when the State was in the worst condition.
