Dr. Jaiteerth R Joshi, FNAE and Outstanding Scientist, DRDL, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex in Hyderabad
Dr. Jaiteerth R Joshi, FNAE and Outstanding Scientist, DRDL, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex in Hyderabad, has assumed charge as the Director General, BrahMos. Dr Joshi has made significant contributions in design, development and induction of tactical missile systems and as Programme Director spearheaded R&D for the joint development of Long Range Surface to Air Missile (LRSAM) and successfully commissioned the same.
His sustained R&D contributions and technology leadership over the last three decades has been transformative for making India self-reliant in advanced missile systems and provided thrust to the indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities. He made vital contributions as AICTE-INAE Distinguished Visiting Professor and is President-Elect, Indian Society for Non-destructive Testing (ISNT).
For his distinguished contributions, he has been conferred with many awards and honours including Distinguished NDT'ian of the decade by ISNT, IIM SAIL Gold Medal by Indian Institute of Metals, Scientist of the Year Award, Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Award by Institution of Engineers,
Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) by National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He is a Fellow of Indian National Academy Engineering (FNAE), Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), London, Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Institution of Engineers India (IEI), Indian Society for Non-destructive Testing (ISNT), Indian Society for Mechanical Engineers (ISME), Indian Institution of Production Engineers (IIPE) and Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS).
