Vijayawada: April 26: Former minister and YSRCP MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad tendered his resignation from the YSR Congress Party on Friday. In his letter addressed to party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Dokka cited his resignation from the post of Guntur district president and his departure from the party altogether.
Dokka’s decision to resign comes amid reported differences with the party, particularly regarding his desire to contest in the upcoming 2024 assembly elections under the YSRCP banner. However, the party’s decision not to nominate him for an assembly ticket led to his distancing from the party and ultimately his resignation.
