Ahead of the first day of the month, the Andhra Pradesh government has initiated the distribution of pensions across the state. The NTR Bharosa pension distribution program began this morning, with ₹2,717 crores allocated for 63,77,943 beneficiaries. By midday, pensions had already been distributed to 90% of the intended recipients.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu personally participated in the program in Palnadu district’s Yalamanda village. He visited the home of Saramma, a widow who lost her husband during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. After handing over her pension, Chandrababu inquired about the family’s situation. He instructed officials to arrange NEET coaching for Saramma’s daughter, who is currently pursuing intermediate education. Additionally, he directed the SC Corporation to provide ₹1 lakh as a loan and ₹2 lakhs as a subsidy to help her son set up a mobile phone shop.
In another instance, Chandrababu visited the home of another beneficiary, Edukondalu. At their residence, he personally prepared coffee, which he served to the family members before handing over the pension.
