Anchor Vishnupriya Seeks FIR Quash in Betting App Case

Hyderabad: A significant development has occurred in the betting app promotion case, as a case has now been registered against anchor Vishnupriya. In response, she has approached the Telangana High Court, filing a quash petition seeking dismissal of the two FIRs lodged against her. The High Court is set to hear the petition today (Tuesday).

The betting app controversy has been making waves across the Telugu states, with several prominent names, including Daggubati Rana, Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj, and Manchu Lakshmi, being linked to the case. The police have already issued notices to multiple actors and social media influencers. As part of the investigation, a case was registered against Vishnupriya at Punjagutta police station after authorities discovered multiple social media posts promoting betting apps on her accounts.

Four days ago, the police interrogated Vishnupriya and seized her mobile phone. During questioning, she reportedly admitted to accepting large payments to promote 15 different betting apps on Instagram. The police also examined her bank statements and have directed her to be available for further questioning whenever required.

So far, 11 individuals have been named as accused in the Punjagutta FIR related to this case. Notices have been served to all of them, but despite orders for three individuals to appear daily for questioning, only two have complied.

The case continues to unfold, with further investigations expected in the coming days.
