Andhra Pradesh Congress chief YS Sharmila has called on the State government to release a white paper clarifying the timeline for implementing the Super Six schemes promised during the elections. Under the auspices of the Congress party, a Thali Bajav program was organized across the state on Wednesday. During the event, Sharmila questioned whether a government that fails to implement the Super Six schemes can be considered effective. “Is this a good government or a government that betrays its people?” she asked.
She characterized the Chandrababu Naidu-led government as one destined to fail, claiming, “The previous government was not good, and people trusted you to do good. The NDA coalition government will also lose the credibility of the people.” The Thali Bajav protests, which involved citizens banging plates and ladles, aimed to draw attention to the government’s inaction. Sharmila expressed the party’s intention to seek a response from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. “This is a good government? Chief Minister Chandrababu is campaigning, but he needs to explain how this is a good government.
He promised employment opportunities for 20 lakh people under the Super Six schemes, yet these plans are absent from your 100-day job creation plan,” she stated, noting that there are currently 3 lakh government jobs with no plans to fill them. She criticized the government for cutting compensation for farmers and questioned, “Does anyone consider a government that reduces compensation to farmers as good? If flood victims have lost everything, will they compensate only 4 lakh people?” Sharmila highlighted the failure of the government to implement the “Thalliki Vandanam ” scheme, which promised financial support for children’s education.
“The previous government at least provided something per child, but this government hasn’t given anything to even one child,” she criticized. She also questioned the absence of funds under the Mahashakti scheme, asking when this support would reach millions of women. Sharmila further criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s indifference toward Andhra Pradesh, stating, “Even after everything is lost in the floods, not even a rail neer is provided. The railway department generates an income of Rs 6,000 crores per year; is this Modi’s love for the state?” She urged CM Chandrababu to explain why he formed an alliance with the BJP, which she accused of betraying the State.
