Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple : The Sri Mahakaleshwar Temple is located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Every day, thousands of devotees from all over the country visit the temple to seek the blessings of Baba Mahakala. As part of their visit, devotees also partake in the prasadam of peanut flour laddus. This prasad is prepared by the Sri Mahakaleshwara Management Committee. Dr. Piyush Tripathi, Assistant Administrator of the committee, highlighted that the prasad offered to Baba Mahakal is prepared with complete purity.
The peanut flour laddus are manufactured in a unit located near Chintaman, Ujjain. The unit employs about 60 people, and special care is taken to ensure the purity of the prasadam. All employees are required to wash their hands and wear a cap before participating in the prasad preparation.
Additionally, the quality of pulses used for gram flour is carefully monitored, and any dry fruits added to the laddus are tested in the laboratory for quality before being included in the prasadam. The Sri Mahakaleshwar Management Committee has awarded this prasad with the Safe Bhog Award as well as a Five Star Rating due to its purity and quality.
As for the price, the laddu prasad is available to devotees visiting the temple in 100 gm, 200 gm, 500 gm, and 1 kg packets, and it is priced at Rs. 400 per kg. Around 25 to 30 quintals of laddus are consumed daily in the temple, and devotees coming from distant places can purchase the prasad from the temple’s counter.
