Two Arrested in Assam for Alleged IPL Betting; Mobile Phones, Bank Passbooks Seized

Two individuals were apprehended in Assam’s Dhubri district on Saturday for their alleged involvement in betting during IPL matches, according to the police. Acting on a tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) arrested the two individuals from their residences in the Bilasipara area. The individuals who were arrested were identified as Sahidul Islam and Mozidul Islam, as per the police. Items seized from them included five mobile phones, passbooks from three different banks, a chequebook, and PAN cards. The STF handed over the duo to the Bilasipara police station for further action.
