The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that it will explore the possibility of allowing Muslim devotees to render voluntary service to the deity in Tirumala. The announcement was made by TTD executive officer A V Dharma Reddy in response to a request from a Muslim devotee, Hussain Bhasha, who asked the TTD to allow Muslim devotees of Lord Venkateswara to render Srivari Seva. A
ccording to Reddy, the dedication of these Muslim devotees to Lord Venkateswara is commendable, despite their belonging to other religious faiths. Reddy also revealed that several devotees belonging to other faiths have been making donations to the deity. Srivari Seva is a voluntary service launched in 2000 aimed at offering better services to pilgrims coming from far-flung parts of India and the world. The services of Srivari Sevakulu (renderers of Srivari Seva) are utilized in over 60 areas of TTD, such as vigilance, health, annaprasadam, garden, medical, laddu prasadam (consecrated food), temple, transport, kalyanakkatta, book stalls and others. The TTD is the official custodian of the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati. The executive officer has promised to verify the possibility of the request made by the Muslim devotee.
