Manda Krishna Madiga, the founder president of MMRPS, expressed that the 20 years of struggle have finally borne fruit. He mentioned that back in 2004, he had stated that righteousness would prevail and injustice is temporary. The Supreme Court ruled that the power of classification rests with the states, with a 6:1 majority decision by the bench headed by CJI Chandrachud. Speaking to the media in Delhi against the backdrop of this victory, Manda Krishna Madiga emphasized that he has been fighting for this cause for 30 years, and many have sacrificed their lives in this pursuit. He condemned the numerous attempts to undermine the movement but affirmed that he persevered, ultimately achieving success. The movement for reclassification commenced in 1994 in Idumudi of Prakasam district, aiming to correct historical injustices. He dedicated this triumph to all who supported MMRPS in the pursuit of justice and highlighted the need to rectify job recruitment notifications. Additionally, he emphasized that classification should not be solely based on census data. Notably, he acknowledged Prime Minister Modi’s involvement in the classification initiative and expressed gratitude to the judiciary for their favorable verdict. Finally, he reiterated his statement from November 5, 2004, that righteousness would prevail, and announced plans for a victory ceremony to thank those who contributed to this cause.
