Three IPS officers named as accused in Mumbai model Jethwani case
In a significant development in the case involving Mumbai model Kadambari Jethwani, the Andhra Pradesh police have included three IPS officers as accused in the remand report of Kukkala Vidyasagar, the main accused. The officers named are PSR Anjaneyu, Kranti Rana Tata, and Vishal Gunni.
The 4th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) in Vijayawada issued an order remanding Kukkala Vidyasagar in judicial custody till October 4. Vidyasagar, who had been on the run, was arrested two days ago and brought to Vijayawada from Dehradun by train on Sunday night. After undergoing medical tests at a government hospital, he was presented before the ACMM judge at dawn, who ordered his remand. The case gained momentum following a complaint filed by actress Kadambari Jethwani, accusing Vidyasagar of false allegations and wrongful actions. After the complaint, the police intensified their investigation, utilizing technology to trace Vidyasagar, who had been evading arrest by using a friend’s mobile phone. Following this, the police located him and took him into custody.
It is reported that Kukkala Vidyasagar had earlier filed a complaint against Kadambari Jethwani, which led to her being brought to Vijayawada by flight. However, in response to her recent complaint at Ibrahimpatnam police station, alleging false accusations and arrest, the police identified Vidyasagar as the prime accused. The involvement of the IPS officers came to light during the investigation, prompting the police to include their names in the case. The police have registered cases under multiple sections and have ramped up their investigation.
