A case has been filed against an auto-rickshaw driver in Maharashtra’s Thane district for allegedly harassing a 39-year-old woman who was a passenger in his vehicle, the police reported on Sunday. On June 13, the woman hired the auto-rickshaw from Kalyan railway station to travel to her residence in Waldhuni. When she tried to pay the fare, the driver reportedly grabbed her hand, verbally abused her, and threatened her, according to an official from MFC police station. Subsequently, the woman lodged a complaint, leading to the registration of an FIR against the auto-rickshaw driver on Friday under relevant legal provisions, the official confirmed.
