The Telangana government is set to announce the results of the DSC (District Selection Committee) for teacher recruitment today. The Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, will release the results at 11 am at the State Secretariat. The DSC exams were conducted from 18th July to 5th August, with 2.45 lakh candidates participating. The response sheets for the exams have been removed from the website, and both the primary and final keys have been released. There were some objections raised by candidates, particularly regarding the answers to 12 questions, and an expert committee has submitted a report to the Education Department to address these objections.
The results will include general ranks, which will be determined by adding the weightage of the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) marks to the marks obtained in the DSC examinations. These ranks will be announced district-wise, and teacher posts will be filled under the direction of the District Collector. The government has aimed to fulfill its promise to the unemployed by expediting the result announcement process, although there is intense competition for teacher posts, particularly in Vikarabad district, where 50 to 100 people are competing for one post.
The recruitment process includes filling 359 teaching posts in government and local body schools in the district, with exams conducted for various categories of teacher posts. There are concerns among candidates that the state government’s recent order to adjust teachers in schools may further delay the filling of teaching posts. Officials estimate that it will take at least three weeks to complete the process of examination of certificates and selection of candidates after the final results are declared.
The available posts include 102 School Assistant, 195 Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT), 23 Language Pandit, and 5 Physical Education Teacher positions. Additionally, there are 6 School Assistant and 28 SGT posts in the Special Education Department. Out of the total 195 SGT posts, 169 are for Telugu medium and 26 for Urdu medium. The distribution of posts across different categories and mediums has also been specified.
