Zinc prices rose by 35 paise to Rs 262.30 per kilogram in the futures trade on Thursday due to an increase in spot demand. Zinc contracts for May delivery on the Multi Commodity Exchange traded 35 paise higher, or 0.13 percent, at Rs 262.30 per kg with a business turnover of 2,916 lots. Market analysts attributed the rise in zinc prices to the widening of positions by participants, driven by an uptick in demand from consuming industries.
