Manoj Tiwary Makes Sensational Allegations Against Head Coach Gautam Gambhir

Former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Manoj Tiwary has made sensational allegations against the Indian team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir. Tiwary accused Gambhir of being a hypocrite, claiming that he preaches values to others but fails to practice them himself. Additionally, Tiwary questioned Gambhir's preference for KKR players Nitish Rana and Harshit Rana, suggesting that favoritism played a role in their selection over other deserving players in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Tiwary expressed his dissatisfaction with the exclusion of Akash Deep, who performed well in the Perth Test during the series in Australia. He alleged that despite Akash Deep's impressive performances in home series against Bangladesh and New Zealand, he was unfairly sidelined in favor of Harshit Rana. “How was this change possible? What mistake did Akash Deep make? He bowled brilliantly in the Bangladesh and New Zealand series, adapting well to pitch conditions. You (Gambhir) talk about bowlers who can understand the conditions and bowl accordingly, yet you ignored Akash Deep, who has great records. This is why players support him,” said Tiwary.

Tiwary further clarified that he was not making baseless claims but only stating facts. He also recalled past incidents involving Gambhir, alleging that the latter had verbally abused his family and spoken disrespectfully about former Indian cricket legend Sourav Ganguly. Tiwary stated that during a Ranji Trophy match in Delhi, he had an argument with Gambhir, but only Gambhir’s words were heard and promoted. “Whatever Gambhir says, his PR (Public Relations) team magnifies it. I’m talking about the PR team, and that’s my point,” he explained.

It is noteworthy that both Manoj Tiwary and Gautam Gambhir have played together for Delhi in domestic cricket and in the IPL. Amid ongoing criticism of Gambhir following India's heavy defeats in the recent home series against New Zealand and during the Australian tour, Tiwary’s comments have drawn attention.
