Amaravati: TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh is the only political leader who registered his promises and problems of the area people are facing on milestones during his walkathon journey of 3132 km. Not only that, he also set the time limit to solve the problems once the TDP formed the government.
Earlier, several leaders right from father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi (Dandi March before independence in 1930) to Vinoba Bhave (Bhoodhan movement in 1951) had undertaken Padayatras. The longest Paadayatra of 58,000 km could be attributed to Vinoba Bhave.
In the 21st century, leaders like the late Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy, his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and daughter YS Sharmila Reddy had also undertaken Paadayatras.
Former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had also taken part in Paadayatra in the erstwhile combined state. His son Nara Lokesh began the Paadayatra from Kuppam to Aganampudi covering 3,132km. He had gone through 97 constituencies, 232 mandals, 2028 villages in 11 districts in 226 days.

Indeed, Lokesh Paadayatra is different from all other Paadayatras undertaken by various leaders. So far, he is the only political leader who etched his promises on pylons as milestones during Paadayatra for every hundred kilometers.
Usually, politicians extend promises during their meetings, Paadayatras and any platforms where they meet the public. But Lokesh is the only the leader in politics who is inscribing his promises on plaques.
Interestingly, he has given the deadlines on the milestones for completing his promises. His promises and finishing date were also engraved on the milestones.
He had erected stones at 31 places Putalapattu, GD Nellore, Srikalahasti, Chandragiri, Madanapalle, Kadiri, Penugonda, Singamala, Done, Adhoni, Ymmignur, Nandikotkur, Nandyala, Jammalamadugu, Kadapa, Atmakuru, Venkatagiri, Guduru, Kovuru, Kavali, Kanigiri, Trovagunta, Vinukonda, Pedakurapadu, Mangalagiri, Nuzvid, Seethampet, Vempa, Patha Injaram, Goury Library and Aganampudi.

His father Nara Chandrababu Naidu had also erected pylons during his Paadayatra at various places just to mark his journey in various specific occasions like 100 days and 2500km. But Lokesh erected pylons displaying his promises at every 100 kilometers.
It is a new record in politics as the leader not only has given promises but also displayed promises openly on pylon to complete them after coming to power. Ironically the point was not highlighted to get the attention of the public on various publicity platforms during his walkathon.
