SJVN Set to Light Up Nepal with 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro-Electric Project in 2024

SJVN expects its 900 MW Arun-3 hydro-electric project in Nepal, which is currently under construction, to begin generating power next year. Sushil Sharma, the chairman and managing director, stated that nearly three-fourths of the work has been completed. The Nepal Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, initiated the final blast to mark the completion of the 11.8 km long head race tunnel of the project located in the Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal. SJVN is developing the multi-crore Arun 3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal, with more than 74% of the project works already completed and the remaining works progressing rapidly. According to Sharma, the project has the potential to generate 3924 million units of electricity annually and is expected to commence power generation next year.
