The Andhra Pradesh government has issued a show cause notice to the Secretariat Employees Association, led by Venkatarami Reddy, for allegedly violating the Election Code. The General Administration Department (GAD) has questioned why the AP Secretariat Employees Association should not be de-recognised over Reddy’s actions.
As Venkatarami Reddy was unavailable to respond, association secretary Krishna and other office bearers addressed the issue on behalf of the association. They clarified to the government that Venkatarami Reddy had participated in the election campaign in a personal capacity and that the association was not involved. The GAD noted that it had not been consulted regarding any activities carried out outside the Secretariat.
In their response, association office bearers urged the government to take action against Venkata Rami Reddy individually if he violated the election code as president, but they requested that the association not be de-recognised due to one individual’s actions. Additionally, association general secretary P Krishna announced his resignation from the AP Secretariat Employees Association, further intensifying the situation.
