A search operation is currently being conducted in a forest area in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir following the suspicious movement of armed individuals, as per officials on Wednesday.
The search operation took place in the Kanda-Poni area, where terrorists fired upon a 53-seat bus transporting pilgrims traveling to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra from the Shiv Khori temple on June 9. The bus, carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi, veered off a deep gorge due to the gunfire, resulting in the death of nine individuals and injuring 41 others.
Local residents reported the suspected movement of three armed individuals in the Kanda area on Tuesday evening. Consequently, the Army, CRPF, and police have initiated the search operation, according to officials.
