Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu issued a stern warning to social media activists associated with the YSR Congress Party,
stressing that no one will be spared if they cross the line, especially when it involves inappropriate posts targeting women. He emphasized that criminals, regardless of their affiliation, will not be let off lightly.
During his visit to the Amaravati region on Thursday, CM Naidu inaugurated a new electricity sub-centre in Thallayapalem village, Tulluru mandal. Addressing a gathering, he condemned the rising trend of offensive social media posts, specifically mentioning how his family and the daughters of Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan had been targeted with objectionable content. Naidu expressed his disappointment over the emotional toll this has taken on Pawan Kalyan and warned that such behavior would not be tolerated. “Anyone attempting to play with him or his family would face repercussions,” Naidu warned. CM Naidu criticized the YSRCP for spreading false narratives, citing an instance where Sakshi news daily published defamatory articles about him following the murder of YS Viveka, accusing him of orchestrating the killing. He asserted that while the YSRCP may attempt to attack them mentally through these posts, he would not back down and would ensure those responsible face consequences.
Naidu also questioned the YCP’s interpretation of "freedom of expression," asking if it justified posting harmful content about others. He reiterated that the police should take a firm stance against criminal activity and stressed the importance of maintaining law and order in the State.
