Rohit Sharma Retires from T20 Internationals After World Cup Victory

Rohit Sharma had never considered retiring from T20 Internationals. However, following the footsteps of Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper made way for the younger generation. He expressed that there was “nothing better” than bidding adieu with an elusive World Cup trophy. After India’s thrilling seven-run win in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa, Rohit Sharma spoke to the select media and stated that he couldn’t have chosen a better time to leave the T20 format. He also mentioned that he would continue to play in the IPL. Rohit emphasized that he doesn’t make hasty decisions about his future, and whatever feels right from inside is what he tries to follow. Despite never thinking about retiring from T20s before, he felt that the current situation was perfect for him, especially after India’s ODI World Cup win last year. He concluded by stating, “Nothing is better than winning the cup and bidding goodbye.”
