Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy offered prayers at the Tirumala temple on Wednesday and announced plans to meet the Andhra Pradesh chief minister after the ongoing Lok Sabha elections to discuss involving Telangana in enhancing amenities for devotees visiting the temple.
During his visit, the CM prayed for the development and prosperity of Telugu people and for maintaining cordial relations between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He was accompanied by his family, including his wife, daughter, grandson, and other relatives, as they participated in the temple rituals. This marked CM Reddy’s first visit to the Tirumala temple since assuming office as the chief minister of Telangana in December last year.
It does seem like an interesting timing for Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s visit, especially in the absence of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Their absence due to their overseas trips after the conclusion of the general elections in AP adds a unique dynamic to CM Revanth Reddy’s visit to Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons, CM Revanth Reddy expressed his desire to sustain good relations between the two Telugu states and focus on their mutual development. He emphasised the importance of friendly ties with the new government to be formed in Andhra Pradesh to address inter-state issues effectively.
Revanth revealed that the Telangana government plans to construct a ‘Satram’ (rest house) and a ‘Kalyana Mandapam’ (wedding hall) on the hill to offer better facilities for devotees from Telangana. Additionally, he stated that the Telangana government is eager to participate in making arrangements for the devotees visiting the temple from various parts of the country.
