The Editors Guild of India expressed sadness at the passing of its former president Ramoji Rao, the founder of the Eenadu daily and the ETV network. Rao passed away in Hyderabad early on Saturday. The Guild praised Rao for fearlessly confronting the establishment and speaking truth to power as a media owner. They highlighted his role in launching the multi-edition Eenadu daily, heading the Telugu news and entertainment network ETV, and establishing the Ramoji Film City. The Guild emphasized Rao’s enduring legacy as an inspiration to journalists across the country. Rao was also a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan.
