Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram mohan Naidu announced plans to launch direct flights from Vijayawada to Singapore and Dubai. He also inaugurated the approach road connecting the National Highway from the main gate of Vijayawada Airport on Saturday. Additionally, a new Indigo service to Delhi has been launched.
During the event, the Minister mentioned that Chief Minister Chandrababu Babu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan have emphasized the need to establish air connectivity to Amaravati from any city in the country. In line with this, several new services have been consecutively started. Four new services have been launched from Vijayawada in the past three months.
The number of passengers has significantly increased since the elections. Previously, an average of 85,000 people traveled per month, which has now risen to one lakh. MP Ram mohan Naidu also announced plans to plant 80,000 saplings in all the airports across the country, with 1,000 to be planted in Vijayawada. It was also mentioned that the integrated terminal at Vijayawada airport will be completed by next year. Minister Kollu Ravindra, Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashauri, Mysore MP Yuduveera Krishnadatta, and MLA Yarlagadda Venkatarao were all in attendance.
