On Wednesday, international trade expert Rakesh Mohan Joshi assumed the position of vice-chancellor at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) under the commerce ministry. Formerly, Joshi served as the Dean of the institute and was on deputation as Director at the Indian Institute of Plantation Management in Bengaluru. The institute announced, “Prof. Rakesh Mohan Joshi takes over as vice-chancellor of IIFT.” Joshi received education and training from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, Boston; IIFT, Rajasthan University, and National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal. Joshi, who has authored several books, expressed his commitment to elevating IIFT into a world-class business school with a focus on international trade and management through advanced research, training, and education, contributing to India’s journey to become a global powerhouse in world trade. The institute, established in 1963 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce, aims to enhance the skills for India’s external trade sector.
