The race for the presidential elections in America is heating up. Incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris is running as the Democratic candidate in the November 5th election. Renowned music director and Oscar winner AR Rahman created a special 30-minute video to boost her election campaign.
Rahman is the first international artist to support Harris, who is of Indo-African descent, in this election. He voiced his support for a group of leaders and artists who stand for progress and representation in America. Shekhar Narasimhan, Chairman of ‘The Asian American Pacific Islanders (AIPI) Victory Fund,’ stated that Kamala Harris has received support from AR Rahman, who has Tamil roots. “It’s not just a music show.
It is a call to our communities in America to vote for the future we want to see,” said Narasimhan. On the night of the 13th of this month, Rahman’s video will be broadcasted by AAPI Victory Fund on YouTube. The video will include some of Rahman’s favorite songs, as well as messages about Harris’ candidacy and commitment to the AAPI community, the organization said.
