Andhra Pradesh BJP president D Purandeshwari launched a scathing attack on the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), alleging that the State has witnessed no development in the last five years under its governance. Speaking at a BJP review meeting held as part of the party’s membership registration drive, Purandeshwari claimed that the people of Andhra Pradesh have suffered severe hardships during the YSRCP’s tenure.
Highlighting the BJP’s efforts, she stated that the Central government has sanctioned Rs. 12,500 crore for the Polavaram irrigation project, reaffirming the party’s commitment to the construction of Amaravati as the State capital. “The BJP is fully dedicated to the development of Amaravati, and the central assistance reflects our commitment,” Purandeshwari said.
She further alleged that corruption had risen dramatically under the YSRCP regime, leaving the State in a deteriorated condition. “The past five years have brought nothing but loss and stagnation to Andhra Pradesh,” she added. In a pointed critique, Purandeshwari accused the YSRCP government of stifling opposition voices by filing SC and ST atrocity cases against those who raised questions about the lack of progress in the state. She stressed that these actions were meant to suppress legitimate concerns about the government’s failure to foster development.
