Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced the commencement of a new era of pro-people governance in Andhra Pradesh, vowing to provide a transformative administration aimed at wealth creation and equitable distribution to the poor.

Addressing media on Thursday, following his prayers at the Tirumala temple, Naidu reiterated his vision of making Andhra Pradesh a zero-poverty state.

Naidu, who took the oath as chief minister on Wednesday, emphasised his commitment to reducing economic inequalities through effective government policies. He recalled the progressive initiatives during his previous tenure as the chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh, stating, “CBN 1.0 started in 1995. We took governance, which was limited to the Secretariat, to the doorsteps of people. There was development and everyone has seen its results.

World leaders came to Hyderabad. I did not invite them. They came on their own. They come wherever good work is done.” Highlighting the importance of family as a cornerstone of Indian society, Naidu praised the family system for providing security and happiness. He mentioned that his family was his greatest support during challenging times, including his imprisonment. The CM, set to assume charge formally on Thursday evening, assured that his administration would not engage in witch-hunting but would ensure that those who have committed wrongdoings are punished according to the law. He emphasised, “God has also ordained to protect good and punish evil.” Reflecting on the Telugu Desam Party’s historic mandate in the recent elections, Naidu claimed, “We have never seen such a huge public mandate. The strike rate of 93 per cent never happened in the state or the country’s history.” Naidu, with a deep-seated attachment to the Tirumala temple, credited the blessings of the Lord for his ascent in life and his significant role in national politics. Recalling a failed assassination attempt by Maoists near the temple in 2003, he expressed gratitude for his survival, attributing it to divine intervention, “The Lord saved me from claymore mines. No one would have survived. He saved me so that I serve the state and the people.” He further alleged that the previous government tried to undermine the sanctity of Tirumala, adding, “While other gods punish sinners after death, Venkateswara Swamy punishes in this life.”

In Vijayawada, Naidu visited Goddess Indrakiladri. Welcomed with traditional honors by temple priests and officials, the Chief Minister performed special pooja to the goddess alongside his wife Bhuvaneshwari. Following the blessings and ceremonial presentations, including the symbolic garlanding of his wife, Naidu received laddu prasad and an image of the goddess from temple EVO Rama Rao. After completing the rituals, Naidu departed from Indrakiladri to his residence in Undavalli, marking the beginning of his new term with divine blessings and a renewed commitment to his governance vision.
