Prime Minister Narendra Modi: May 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a fervent appeal to the people of Andhra Pradesh, urging them to vote in favor of the NDA alliance to establish a “double engine government” that would propel the development of the state. Expressing confidence on victory, he said that the NDA would come in to power in AP and also in the country.

Speaking at an election campaign in Rajahmundry on Monday, Modi criticised the YSRCP government’s track record over the past five years, alleging zero development and rampant corruption.

Modi emphasised that voting for the NDA alliance on May 13 would signify a new chapter in Andhra Pradesh’s journey towards progress. He envisioned the state becoming an integral part of a “Vikasit Bharat” (Developed India) after June 4 with the formation of an NDA alliance government. Modi claimed that the people of Andhra Pradesh have already rejected the YSRCP in the ongoing elections due to its failure in promoting development post the state’s division.

The Prime Minister highlighted concerns about rising corruption under the YSRCP regime, citing the proliferation of the sand and liquor mafias. He criticised the state government for backtracking on its election promise of prohibition and accused it of mismanaging the state treasury due to corruption.

Additionally, Modi expressed disappointment over the YSRCP’s inability to establish even one capital out of the promised three. He noted the delays in completing crucial projects like the Polavaram irrigation project despite the Centre has given Rs 15000 crore for the project, resulting in challenges for farmers in accessing irrigation water.
