Vijayawada, May 14: The polling in Andhra Pradesh witnessed a significant turnout, with Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena disclosing extensive voting activities even late into the night at several polling centers. Meena revealed that the polling percentage stood at 79.2%, with an additional 0.6% from postal ballots, totaling to 79.8% voter participation in the 2019 elections.
By midnight, an estimated 78.25% of votes were recorded, with 79.4% from direct polling and 1.2% from postal ballots. Full details are expected to be released later in the day, but Meena projected a final polling percentage of 81% or higher.
