Jan Suraj party chief Prashant Kishore has vowed to lift Bihar’s liquor ban within one hour of his party coming to power in the upcoming elections. Kishore, who launched the Jan Suraj party two years ago on October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, made this announcement as a key component of his campaign platform. Addressing the promise, Kishore emphasized that his administration would act swiftly to reverse the State’s prohibition policy, a move that has been a significant topic of debate in Bihar’s political landscape.
This promise aims to resonate with voters who have expressed frustration with the current ban and its implementation. Kishore also responded to recent political developments involving Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav. Yadav had been on a State-wide yatra, and Kishore extended his best wishes to Yadav for his efforts in engaging with the public.
However, Kishore criticized Yadav’s remarks about Chief Minister Nitish Kumar allegedly apologizing for joining the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Kishore dismissed these claims as inconsequential and reiterated his stance against the political establishment, suggesting that both Yadav and Kumar should exit Bihar’s political scene.
