In response to allegations of adulterated ghee being mixed in the sacred Tirumala Laddu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan took part in a symbolic penance at the Kanakadurgamma Temple atop the famous Indrakiladri shrine in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
Pawan Kalyan participated in a clean-up program at the temple’s steps, followed by a Puja ritual on the stairs. Upon his arrival, Pawan Kalyan was welcomed by the commissioner of Endowment Department and the temple’s executive officer (EO). Several political figures, including MPs Keshineni Shivnath Chinni, Balashauri, and MLC Hariprasad, were present and took part in the cleaning initiative.
Pawan Kalyan, who has undertaken an 11-day penance, plans to visit Tirumala on October 1 to continue his spiritual initiation in the wake of the Tirumala Laddu Prasadam controversy. He intends to ascend the steps of Alipiri to reach the Tirumala temple, where he will offer prayers to Sri Venkateswara Swamy on October 2. Additionally, the Varahi Sabha will be held in Tirupati on October 3, marking the conclusion of his penance activities.
