Amaravati: June 30: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s poll promise of a pension hike of Rs 4000 per month is all set to be delivered at doorstep across the State on Monday (July 1st). In the recent election campaign, he announced a pension hike from Rs 3000 to Rs 4000 for a month in his Kuppam tour. The beneficiaries will get Rs 7000 for this month since the hike is applicable from last month as per the assurance of Chandrababu Naidu. The State government has readied the funds of Rs Rs 4408 crore for pension distribution purposes at present.

Nearly 65.18 lakh poor people especially old age people, widows, and disabled persons will get pension hike benefits across the State.

It is the most useful scheme for beneficiaries. They buy medicines and other necessary food requirements. No one has criticized the pension scheme of any government so far because of its importance.

Former Chief Minister and TDP founder late NT Rama Rao introduced the pension scheme Rs 30 per month. He launched several welfare schemes like Rs 2 kg rice, pukka houses, and Janata clothes for upliftment of poor people. Later successive governments continued the welfare schemes including the pension scheme.

The TDP hiked the pension amount from Rs 30 to Rs 70. The Congress government led by YS Rajasekhar Reddy hiked the pension amount up to Rs 200. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had increased the pension amount to Rs 2000 during his past tenure. The YSR Congress government led by then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced a pension amount of Rs 3000 in the recent past. Though he announced hike of Rs 250 annually from Rs 2000 but finally he made steps for an increase after four years instead of the first year.

Now newly elected Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government has made all arrangements to deliver a hiked pension of Rs 4000 from Rs 3000 of the YSR Congress plan. Moreover, Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to pensioners on the pension hike and his commitment to deliver the pension at doorsteps every month first without delay. As per the sources, he would also participate in the pension delivery program at Penumaka village in the Guntur district.

The secretariat employees of the State government will distribute the pension at doorsteps across the State. Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad has also issued orders in this regard and made all arrangements.
