NewSpace India Limited( NSIL ) has announced that it will be responsible for managing all Indian Remote Sensing satellite data and products.

Bhoonidhi will remain the data dissemination platform. According to the NSIL, starting from May 1, 2024, all commercial activities related to IRS satellite data and products will be handled by #NSIL, while Bhoonidhi will continue to serve as the data dissemination platform.

Furthermore, in accordance with India’s Space Policy 2023, all users are now allowed to access and use satellite data of 5m and coarser for free.

However, data finer than 5m, except DEM, merged, mosaicked & customized products, etc., is open and free only for Government Entities, and priced for NGEs.
