NIIT Names Pankaj Jathar New CEO, Focuses on Tech Innovation and Growth

NIIT appointed Pankaj Jathar as its new Chief Executive Officer on Monday. The Gurugram-based company specializes in skill and talent development, offering both online and offline training courses. Jathar takes over from Sapnesh Lalla, who will remain as a non-executive director at NIIT Ltd while continuing as CEO of NIIT Learning Systems. With 25 years of experience in leading global corporations in e-commerce, consulting, technology solutions, the training industry, business development, and governance, Jathar is well-equipped for the role. He began his career as a management trainee at NIIT, and has also worked at Tata Interactive Systems, Accenture, Amazon India, Cloudtail, and Prione. NIIT aims to strengthen its position in the industry under Jathar’s leadership, focusing on integrating GenAI to drive innovation and growth. NIIT chairman and co-founder Rajendra S Pawar expressed confidence in Jathar, citing his experience and knowledge of technology-driven industries. In response, Jathar expressed enthusiasm for his new role, emphasizing NIIT’s dedication to education and technology. The company’s shares were trading 2.34 percent higher at Rs 105.85 apiece on the BSE on Monday.
