Telangana’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, has made an interesting announcement for students. The state government will be launching a special program called “Telangana Darshini” which will allow students studying in government schools to visit tourist places and historical buildings across Telangana for free.
CM Revanth expressed that this program aims to raise awareness among students about the historical buildings and tourist areas of the state. In line with the World Tourism Day celebrations, the Telangana Government is focusing on the development of the state’s tourism sector. Restoration of tourist areas, particularly ancient step wells in Hyderabad, is being prioritized.
Additionally, the State Tourism Department has partnered with the CII to preserve ancient structures. Several industrialists and public sector organizations have shown interest in adopting ancient wells, with the government handing over agreement documents to them for restoration projects.
Notably, Infosys has been awarded a contract for the restoration of the Mahalakha step well in Osmania University, and other organizations like Sai Life, Dodla Dairy, Bharat Biotech, TGS RTC, and Kothi Women’s College have also committed to rehabilitating and repairing various step wells across the state.
