Nara Lokesh, the TDP general secretary, expressed confidence in the NDA alliance’s success in the upcoming simultaneous elections. The alliance of TDP, Janasena, and BJP is expected to win no less than 150 Assembly and 23 Lok Sabha seats. Lokesh accused the YSRCP-led government of forming a cartel that sells spurious liquor in the state and promised to eliminate spurious liquor when voted to power. He also vowed to end the ganja trade within 100 days of coming to power. Elections for the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled on May 13, and the counting of votes is slated for June 4.
